Growth Mindset
I think that Carol Dweck's 'Growth Mindset' is something all individuals should realize in order to be successful. Not only is it necessary for the growth and development of young children learning what to aspire for or dream about, but I think that it ties to life lessons and quality traits in an individual. Dweck brings up the detriments and results of having a 'now' mindset rather than a 'yet' moment. Some of her examples included what children would do if they failed a test. Some said they would cheat, and some said they would find a student that did worse than them to feel better about themselves. Having a growth mindset would teach these students how to accept failure and learn humility. It would teach them to have the tenacity and discipline to make sure they do better when given the next opportunity. It would teach them to set their goals high and push them to reach their greatest dreams.
